A few nights ago, God reminded me about the importance of progress over perfection. At first it reminded me about the area of art/design, about focusing on the willingness to make one step closer to getting there, instead of focusing on being there.
But then this word slowly unrolled its meaning. He means to tell me much deeper beyond just the circle of art. He means to say that the same principle can apply to my personal walk with Him, too.
That it isn't about whether or not I am super-spiritual in my walk with Him... for all of us will encounter spiritual valleys in our life, and that is normal. Conversely, my role is to be willing to make one step closer to Jesus and gleaning after all that He is, today, tomorrow, and for the rest of the days in my life.
God, my heartfelt prayer is that You will be the anchor to my relationship with You. That You will be the one sustaining my strength, my intimacy with You, because I know if it is by my sheer will alone, nothing will come to pass. Help me to learn to partner with the Holy Spirit. Break down my pride. I ask the same for your sheep, that You will fuel Your love for them, through me. To be consistent with love, patience and wisdom to lead them the same step closer to You. Thank You from the bottomest of my heart, Daddy!
