Wed: Unearthed + themadpoet

Flashback to Wed! Went to the Singapore Art Museum on Wed afternoon with Sabby to visit the 'Unearthed' exhibition, which later on led to us seeing another exhibition currently ongoing within SAM too. It was an awfully long time since we had gone to the museum, and also a long time since we'd last met up to eatpraylove too, so it was a rly good catch up! Didn't really get to talk extendedly with Sabby, but the visit was thoroughly refreshing and artistic hehe!!!

Always love how when one steps into the museum, time seems to slow down, and appears to pass at a speed slower and different from the space outside of it. Now that I describe it, it reminds me of the times I visited Sungei Road Thieves' Market to interview her vendors for my 4D short documentary film project. Love such atmospheres of slowness and relaxedness, where no one has to be hurried to behave faster than his/her initial desires.. I guess the museum serves as a physical form of momentary rest and perceptual introspection (through the exhibited artworks) for the rapidly-busy Singaporean.

As I recall the day at the museum, I am reminded to personally set aside more time for such times of rest and solace with God as well... this past week has been too 'happening', and I'm almost losing control and self-discipline on my daily appointment with God. :( Need to get this vvv impt spiritual habit back in order....! And I dread admitting this but I suppose the seeming trickiness of the book of Numbers is not encouraging me to dwell on the Word, too.. but I guess that's where patience from the Lord is needed to persist and delve beyond the surface value of the Word!

Evening was the ADM end-of-year party at The Mad Poet Gastrobar. It was okay, didn't really get to talk to new faces of batchmates as much as I'd wanted because the place was really overwhelming with noise. Haha. Not the best place to make new friends I guess.. but it was overall a decently good experience. Kudos to the organising committee for seeing through this event, nonetheless! Went with Tianli, and am glad for the many conversations we had that night.

Thursday was finally the first day of complete rest at home... haha! Procrastinated for 7 hours before I finally got my lazy bum to start packing the room, something I had resolved to do for the start of this holiday. 70% of the items I had shifted back from hall are still waiting for me to unpack, and in order to put them back in place I'd have to clear many currently obsolete and unwanted items in the room... gonna take some time, but it's totally gonna be sooo worth it. Am making plans to paint this old bookshelf in the room a fresh pastel turquoise, as well, because it's supposedly white but is now yellowing! :( Old age.... haha!

Friday was the entire family's celebration for my 20th birthday, over lunch at Tomo Izakaya @ Esplanade. It was lovely. Am really thankful and blessed to be able to spend a good day with the entire family! And my sis-in-law thoughtfully got a watercolour sketchbook for me.. #beyondblessed!!! (Very funny how everyone's gifts for me this year are sketchbooks so far lololol - but it's good! For practising my craft. :D) Hadn't seen my two nephews for a long while now so it was really good to spend the day with them and running after them two hyperactive boys... haha. Am happy they have gotten closer and more loving since the last time I met them!! Kisses everywhere from the elder to the younger like they're free hahaha (actually they are)

Wanna give thanks to God, too, for my mom's never ending love; who always unreservedly did her best to give the best to me, before herself... in my opinion, moms always exhibit the best example of Christ-likeness, because I truly see Christ's love in my own. :')
